Sure Thing, The
Year: 1985
Studio: MGM
Directed by: Rob Reiner
Genre: Comedy
Rating: 7 out of 10
Comments: This classic John Cusack film will make you feel nostalgia for the 80's. Gib and Alison, two
complete opposites, end up on a road trip together for different reasons. She's traveling to see her
boyfriend; he's traveling cross-country to get laid. Before they can reach their destination, they have to
survive each other. The leads are remarkably likeable and that's the key to its charm.
Slither
Year: 2006
Studio: Universal Pictures
Directed by: James Gunn
Genre: Comedy, Horror
Rating: 5.5 out of 10
Comments: Go into this film with lower expectations and you'll be pleasantly surprised. This film was
released with a lot of hype and does borrow quite a bit from other films but it has some fine moments. A small
town is overtaken by a slug-like alien that turns the infected residents into mutant zombies. It's worth a look.
Saw 4
Year: 2007
Studio: Lions Gate
Directed by: Darren Lynn Bousman
Genre: Horror
Rating: 3 out of 10
Comments: There are two things you must be aware of before considering a film like Saw IV, you need to
have seen the previous entries beforehand and you must have some interest in torture flicks. Otherwise, stay
away. This time Jigsaw has a game for Rigg, a cop who has been losing everyone around him. These events
are happening side by side with the previous entry. Unfortunately this series won't end here.

Shaun of the Dead
Year: 2004
Studio: Rogue Pictures
Directed by: Edgar Wright
Genre: Comedy, Horror
Rating: 6 out of 10
Comments: This film rejuvenated and reinvented the zombie film. If the Romero zombie films were too
serious or political for you, this is an entertaining alternative. The plot is simple enough. Simon Pegg and
Nick Frost are fantastic together as Shaun and Ed, two friends who get caught up in a zombie epidemic. The
ending was a bit of a letdown because everything prior to it was fantastic.

Revenge of the Nerds 3: The Next Generation
Year: 1992
Studio: 20th Century Fox
Directed by: Roland Mesa
Genre: Comedy
Rating: 4 out of 10
Comments: A mildly entertaining made for television rehash of the original film. It’s nice to see some of the
original cast return but don’t expect much out of the next generation. Anthony Edwards was busy shooting
ER and his absence ruins any real nostalgia feelings you could have for this film. I HATE when pivotal roles
are recast. A powerful alumnus joins forces with disgraced jock Stan Gable to retake Adams College from the
nerds.

Revenge of the Nerds 4: Nerds in Love
Year: 1994
Studio: 20th Century Fox
Directed by: Steve Zacharias
Genre: Comedy
Rating: 4.5 out of 10
Comments: Same formula but different story and that’s what makes this sequel a minor improvement from
‘The Next Generation’ which was nothing more than a tame rehash of the original. More of the original
characters return and have prominent roles this time. On the downside this film has one of the weakest if not
pathetic villains to grace the screen. Booger is getting married but his future father in law does not approve
of his daughter marrying a nerd.
